SO Why do I need to migrate my phone lines?

The emergency phone within a lift provides trapped passengers a telephone to call for help. The emergency phone must be functioning at all times. The rollout of the NBN is currently replacing traditional copper lines across Australia. The unfortunate by-product of the NBN roll out is the disconnection of the Emergency Phone Lines within Lifts/Elevators which are functioning on the existing copper phone lines.

The nbn™ network is replacing most existing fixed phone and internet networks – this installation will affect the operation of important services such as the Lift Emergency Telephone in many of your buildings.

 When a building goes nbn live, you only have a finite period of time before legacy services, including lift lines, are disconnected. The challenge is there are potential phone compatibility issues you need to be able to navigate and in the event of a power outage there is a risk the lift phone will not work.

Our nbn-ready migration solution for Lift Emergency Telephones uses a lift vendor independent technology that is manufactured in Australia, which means it works across all lift vendors and ensures that you maintain the flexibility to be able to switch between lift maintenance providers. This solution ensures your lifts are nbn-ready and services are operational in the event of a blackout.

The price is the price. We don’t like surprises, so we know that you don’t either. We ensure there is no surprises when it comes to our installation costs. If 20 metres of conduit is required, it is included in the price; if multiple visits are required, it is included in the price; if a waterproof external solution is required to ensure that you have the best mobile reception, it is included in the price. Upgrading the Emergency Lift Phone

To ensure that there is a functioning emergency phone within your lift, we recommend a GSM 4G gateway solution be installed. Strata Essential Services have formed a strategic alliance with Pixel Technologies to provide a GSM 4G Gateway solution which ensures that the emergency lift phone will continue to function.

The unique features of the Gateway solution are:

  • Compatible with all major Lift Emergency Phones (emFONE) and ACMA approved telephones.

  • Fail-safe battery backup with up to 12 hours talk-time if a power outage.

  • Single or Dual SIM card options.

  • Genuine Telstra & Optus SIM card – not third-party SIMs, multi-network or traveler SIMs.

  • Future-proofed and are easily upgraded for future network updates (i.e. 5G).

  • Optional lifetime warranty and remote monitoring

Pre-Configuration & Testing Facility

Every device is fully tested before being deployed. Strata Essential Services’ Accredited Configuration Centre allows us to safely pre-configure, test and pre-charge the battery back-up multiple Gateways at a time.

The facility includes a fully grounded, professionally installed, Electro-Static Discharge (ESD) Flooring (rather than just anti-static mats). The ESD Flooring system serves as a conduit for electrical static charge. This directed and intentional flow of electrical current and discharge helps to greatly reduce or eliminate the potential damage to sensitive electronic components during the pre-configuration process.

Within the facility we also fabricate an external IP67 weatherproof case for the GSM Gateway for sites that do not have adequate mobile coverage (Our minimum standard = 2 consistent bars on both services).

Importantly, this solution is designed and manufactured in Australia and is fully ACMA (Australian Communications and Media Authority) compliant.
